Classic Game Room HD reviews a competition between two video game console powerhouses, the SEGA DREAMCAST vs. the MAGNAVOX ODYSSEY 2. Which gaming system is the winner, the Sega Dreamcast or the Magnavox Odyssey 2? Watch this detailed review and find out. The Sega Dreamcast is a popular game system that was released in North America in 1999. The Magnavox Odyssey 2 is a classic cartridge based game console released in 1978. In some ways these two game systems could not be more different… in some ways they could not be more alike. The Sega Dreamcast has Sonic, Crazy Taxi, Soul Calibur and Chu Chu Rocket. The Magnavox Odyssey 2 has KC Munchkin, KC’s Krazy Chase, War of Nerves and Invaders from Hyperspace. Each game console costs about today, used, and games are readily available and frequently inexpensive. Sega is well known for the amazing array of arcade @#$%les, machines and game consoles like the Sega Master System, Sega Genesis, Megadrive, Game Gear and Sega Saturn. Magnavox is known for…. televisions. Maybe they made boom boxes too, and lots of other stuff. This is an interesting and entertaining look at two video game consoles with short life spans. It didn’t have to be that way, and it doesn’t. You can buy the Dreamcast, Odyssey 2 and stacks of games for a fraction of the price of a new PS3 or Xbox 360. Classic Game Room loves classic retro systems as much as the new ones, and this competition of Sega Dreamcast vs Magnavox Odyssey 2 is one of our finest

PC Gaming Vs Console Gaming – Learn the Pros and Cons

Gamers have never been so spoiled for choice. While the console vs PC war has been around for ages, consoles today have bridged the gap by finally providing decent multiplayer capabilities. Is this the end of the PC as the dominant gaming machine? This article examines the pros and cons of PC vs console gaming.

Price:

While it is possible to get a PC at about the same cost of a console, it would be such a stripped down version that it wouldn’t be able to play the latest games. Dollar for dollar, consoles such as the Nintendo Wii, PS3 and Xbox360 still offer the greater bang for buck in terms of gaming power.

Upgradability:

The most you can do to upgrade your console is to replace the harddrive and purchase new controllers. With a PC, the skies the limit. If you are not satisfied with the graphics or sound, simply change the video or add in a new sound card. If you want faster speed, you can upgrade the CPU and motherboard.

Versatility:

While consoles today can be used as media centres or to surf the internet, PCs still offer a lot more versatility in terms of the number of applications that can be installed.

Learning curve and ease of use:

The console definitely has an advantage here as most games just require you to pop in the disc and it works. PC games might require more complicated installations, especially if your drivers are not up to date.

Range of games:

The PC still has the advantage in this area, especially in the area of massively multiplayer online games and multiplayer browser games which are not available on a console.

Is this the end of PC gaming? While more and more gamers are jumping onto the console bandwagon, there is still life to the PC yet, with hardcore MMORPG players and fans of multiplayer browser games keeping the PC alive as a gaming machine.

Multiplayer Browser Games can be complex and it’s common to see players discussing these games all over the internet. Mafia Wars strategy for example, is a hot topic among gamers today and it’s not uncommon to see players discussing how to find important items in the game such as the Mafia Wars untraceable cellphone!

Okay, so this is a microphone stand. Plain and simple. The clips to hold controller are very useful, and the clip actually holds some older video game USB microphones, unlike other mic stands. The stand is made of plastic with mostly plastic connnections, which means that you can’t get the adjustable parts as tight as you’d like. The main adjuster requires two hands on the lower part of the stand to tighten adequately, so if you go the wrong way, the mic will slide down and you’ll have to reposition. If you want to hold the mic while you sing on the stand, it may slide down even when fully tightened. Also, the screw on the mic clip is loose, so expect to tighten it before you play with a Phillips head screwdriver. The clip is removable, so you could put it on a real mic stand if this one ever breaks. The major design flaw is that the controller clip for Xbox 360 does not let you hook up a plug and play charger to it while it’s clipped on. So while I’d have loved to use this time to charge my batteries, I can’t.

To sum it up: It’s a cheap plastic stand with tightening issues, a great clip design for holding the microphone, and a controller clip that won’t let you charge an Xbox 360 controller. If you can live with the above-stated problems, then you should be fine. I am satisfied, considering.

What you see is what you get…and that’s all. The spring loaded microphone stand is decent and the microphone clip is very nice. I love the ability to hang your wireless controllers on the stand and even use one of the extra controller clips to hang my guitar (by the strap). I have one major complaint which keeps this product from rating five stars: nobody sells additional controller clips. You receive three clips, one for each major console system (xbox 360, PS3 and wii). If you’re like me and only want one microphone stand, but would like to hang all your controllers on it, you’re out of luck. I suggest writing your own review and posting your contact information so other buyers can email you and organize a trade. That’s what I did and now I have three Xbox clips and just hang my Wii remotes from their cords.

I bought the mic stand so that I could simultaneously sing and play guitar at the same time. It works wonders. The stand has nice controller clips that hold your controller for you so that you want have to pick it up off a table or the floor between songs. Nice adjustable range on it and very sturdy. I definitely recommend it.

Great Universal Microphone stand that also holds controllers. I will list the cons and pros.

Pros

1.Can be very adjustable to very low to very high

2.Not as cheaply made as I thought it would be

3.Great price

4.Cord organizer

5.Rubber feet

6.Attractive design makes it look like a real stand

Cons

1.Only has one controller clip for a ps3, wii, or xbox 360

2.Cannot purchase additional clips

3.Should have made one for a ps3 that comes with like 3 ps3 clips, or a wii one that comes with 3 wii clips, etc…

Overall I am very happy getting this to go along with my rock band 2. It looks like tons of fun! [....] if you want xbox 360 clip or wii clip. I will trade either one for a ps3 clip. Thanks!

I couldn’t have asked for more for the price…

Heavy enough not to wobble. Small footprint. Controller holders (1 for each of 3 console type controllers) if you need ‘em. Good quality mic and stand parts. Clip to hold wire on stand near the bottom.

When we set up to play our new band hero game (Wii), my wife had one complaint: because you have to pinch the mic holder to open it and put the mic in, it takes two hands to put in and take out. She says she likes the kind where you can just align the wire and slide it in or whatever… but I like the clip – secure and easy to use (if you’re willing to put the extra effort and use two hands!).
